Healthcare

With growing requirements for Hospital networks, such as the intelligent storage of patient information, it is advantageous for healthcare facilities to have full control over all aspects of their IT infrastructure.

The benefits of deploying TeraSpan's VIF system to meet hospitals' requirements include:

1. Secure networks with full redundancy
2. Total control of the fiber infrastructure and its development
3. Ability to combine voice and data services
4. Virtually unlimited bandwidth

The integration of services, and control over their implementation, allows hospitals unprecedented flexibility in securely meeting the needs of patients and staff while cutting costs.

TeraSpan regularly engineers, attains permits and constructs multi-strand fiber optic networks under extremely tight timelines. Dark fiber networks put customers in control of the growth and development of their facilities-based network.

With several hospital network builds behind us, TeraSpan continues to lead the way in providing affordable and effective dark fiber solutions to the healthcare community. Our previous customers include:

British Columbia Cancer Agency

TeraSpan provided a solution that enabled BCCA to easily and securely exchange data between multiple locations.

"Our search for a primary bandwidth provider focused on scalability, reliability and support. TeraSpan Networks exceeded our service requirements at a competitive price and under an aggressive timeline. We are pleased to be working with them as one of our providers," states Don Henkleman, Chief Information Technology Officer of the BC Cancer Agency.

Lion's Gate Hospital

After considering alternate technologies, LGH chose TeraSpan to construct a multi-point redundant fiber network to help them move forward with their present and future IT requirements.

Surrey Memorial Hospital

TeraSpan Networks completed a km fiber optic ring for Surrey Memorial Hospital that connects 5 of the Hospital's buildings. The network allows employees to send extremely high-bandwidth files, like x-rays, from building to building. These files can now be sent without extra charges from service providers, since the hospital owns the fiber outright, giving them complete control over their information infrastructure.
